I have loved horses ever since I can remember, and have been riding since my mom would let me (at age 10). Horses have always been an important part of my life and have been a source of stability and have kept me grounded even while working towards other goals. I believe horses are great teachers of patience, perseverance, teamwork & confidence, and I believe each one teaches you what you need in the moment you need it (even if we don’t always realize it at the time). I wanted to help support a venue for others to experience that, whether through learning to ride or working towards goals with your own horse. That was really the motivation for purchasing the farm at the end of October 2020. I had been a boarder at the farm for 9 years prior to that, and I am very fortunate that my husband, son, and daughter (who also rides here) have supported my dream.
The name Orion comes from the constellation, and the three stars in the logo represent the three stars in Orion’s belt — its characteristic feature. I have always enjoyed looking up at the night sky, and growing up it was a constellation I could find no matter where I was. Orion is the hunter, but the name also means hope and peace — something we could all use a little more of especially in these challenging times.
I hope you will consider visiting us and developing your love of horses . . . down at the farm.
Happy Riding!
